Jay Furtado - Part owner and Personal Trainer
Jay is one of Rhode Islands most respected Personal Trainers. For the past 8 years Jay has used his experience as a teacher, trainer and athlete to help others reach their health and fitness goals. He is an ISSA certified personal trainer and nutritional counsler as well as a former professional football player. He taught special education for six years while coaching basketball and football at both high school and college levels. Jay attended the University of New Haven on a football scholarship and continued on to graduate from UMass Dartmouth, where the passing records he established still stand.
For the past six years, Jay has been improving the lives of many dedicated Barrington residents. He is selective about the clients he accepts into his training program. He admits that the client is responsible for achieving the results, and that it takes an enormous amount of discipline and determination. But Jay's techniques soften the blow by making workouts fun, challenging, and a bit different each time.
Jonathan Packer - Personal Trainer
Jonathan is an ISSA Certified Personal Trainer. As a previous bicycle racer he specializes in cardiovascular conditioning as well as strength training. Specialties include some of the most innovative and up to date group and sport specific training. Jon enjoys working with groups of middle/high school athletes to increase their athletic developments and achievements. He enjoys working closely with every client to cater to their specific needs and concerns to make their relationship as fulfilling as possible. Jon has competed in such races as the Mt Washington Hill Climb bicycle race in New Hampshire, to multiple cyclo-cross races and crits throughout New England.
Dawn Edmonson - Personal Trainer
Nick Ross - Personal Trainer
Nick's Path to fitness began early, as a young teenager, working out in various health clubs and weight rooms. It wasn’t until he became sick with mono, when fitness changed for him from a hobby to a lifestyle. His body had become scrawny and weak, and mentally he was depressed. But through a balanced workout and nutrition plan he was able to improve both his physical health as well as his mental well being. After spending countless hours in the gym, He began training with a competitive bodybuilder and personal trainer of 10 years. With his guidance as well as Nick's own research he was able to take his physique to new heights. He realized how powerful fitness was to his overall health and he fell in love with the ability to transform his physique, as well as the gratification that came from it. He was inspired to share all the knowledge he had gained on his journey through fitness with others in his life, as well as strangers. In 2009 he was certified by the American Council on Exercise as a personal trainer. Today he hopes to use his knowledge as well as his passion for health and fitness, to coach, mentor, motivate and guide others through their own transformations.
